QPR boss Mark Hughes says new signing Andy Johnson hasn't arrived to replace someone.
Johnson joins the likes of Bobby Zamora, Djibril Cisse and Jamie Mackie in the R's attacking ranks.
Hughes told the Rs website: "I'm always looking for complimentary skills.
"If one player is adept at certain things, then another may be more adept at others, so it's important we strike a nice balance in all areas of the squad.
"Andy likes to get in behind defences and he's got good pace which is important.
"There are a lot of reasons why I've bought him in and they'll be there for everyone to see this season."
