QPR boosted as Gabbidon injury not serious

QPR's Danny Gabbidon's knee injury proved less serious than first feared, with the Wales defender in with an outside chance of playing this weekend. Head physio Nigel Cox told the club's official website: "Danny twisted his knee, and the subsequent swelling made a full examination difficult.

"We sent him for a scan on Monday morning and the report has come back that there is no major structural damage, which we are delighted with.

"The injury certainly isn't as bad as we initially feared.

"At this moment in time, he is a doubt for this Sunday's game against Aston Villa but he is working hard and doing everything he can to be available for selection."
