QPR were blocked from signing West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis yesterday.
QPR held loan talks with Jarvis in the afternoon, but could not get special permission to sign the midfielder.
Premier League clubs are only allowed to have one player on loan from another Premier League club and QPR had already taken Mauro Zarate from the Hammers in January.
The Daily Mail says QPR had made it clear earlier this week they wanted to send Zarate back to West Ham and negotiate another loan deal, with Jarvis and Carlton Cole the options.
