QPR have confirmed they will appeal the red card received by captain Joey Barton on Monday.
The R's midfielder was sent off in the first half for an alleged headbutt on Norwich City's Bradley Johnson in the 2-1 loss at Loftus Road but the decision will now be appealed which was confirmed on a statement on the club's official website.
"The Club will be making no further comment.""QPR have formally lodged an appeal to the Football Association following Joey Barton's sending off against Norwich City on Monday 2nd January," it read.
