QPR announce new sale negotiations

QPR have announced they're in new sale talks.

Rangers look nailed on for a return to the Premier League and have a five-point lead at the top of the Championship.

That has sparked interest from a group of American and Asian businessmen.

In a statement the West London club said it had entered into 'preliminary discussions' with a view to a 67 per cent sale of QPR Holdings Limited.

However, the club stress that talks are at an early stage "which may or may not result in an offer being made".

Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone holds a controlling 62 per cent stake in Rangers but vice-chairman Amit Bhatia, son-in-law of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, is not selling his share.

Bhatia said: "My family and I would like to make clear we are not part of these negotiations to sell our shares. We remain passionate about QPR."
