QPR are already drawing up new contract plans for Rio Ferdinand.
The Mirror says Ferdinand will be given the chance to play another season by QPR.
And owner Tony Fernandes is already so impressed with his contribution to the club that the defender is being mentioned at boardroom level as an eventual successor to Harry Redknapp.
Ferdinand is 36 in November and signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road when he left Manchester United at the end of last season.
But Redknapp and Fernandes are already convinced that he can carry on into the 2015-16 season.
