Rangers have rejected a bid from Qatari outfit Lekwhiya for Madjid Bougherra. Rangers have no plans to part with the 28-year-old Algeria international, as he remains an integral part of the reigning Champions first-team plans.
McCoist does not expect that stance to alter any time soon, with the club having signalled their intention by knocking back an approach.
He said: "I hope Madjid's future lies here, but there has been a bid received which we have knocked back from a team in Qatar. That's where we are at the moment.
"I don't want Madjid going anywhere."
