Qatar keen on Man Utd’s Meulensteen

The Qatar national team are keen to lure Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen to the post as head coach.

The Middle East nation are believed to be in the market for a new manager to replace Frenchman Bruno Metsu and have a high opinion of Dutchman Meulensteen who has a great deal to do with Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson an assistant manager Mike Phelan.

The 45-year old has already served as the national youth coach of Qatar so he already has knowledge of the nation and how their football association works.

The Qataris are keen to build the status in world football as they strive to host either the 2018 or 2022 World Cups and believe Meulensteen may be the man to help achieve that.
