Next year's Asian Cup host Qatar were last night hammered 4-1 by Slovenia in an international friendly in Maribor.

FC Cologne striker Milivoje Novakovic struck first in the 14th minute before Grenoble defender Bostjan Cesar and then Wisla Krakow winger Andraz Kirm made it 3-0 just after the half-hour mark.

Fabio Cesar Montezine got one back for the Qataris but it was to no avail as Bojan Jokic of Italy's Chievo made it 4-1 in the 67th minute.
