Qatar are threatening to rumble New York City FC plans for Barcelona midfielder Xavi.

It's been reported Xavi has committed to move to NYCFC in 2016 after meeting the MLS club's owners, Manchester City last week.

However, Marca says Qatari interest has also arrived in recent days.

On the table is a three-year contract on an estimated €6m net per season. The Spaniard could potentially pocket €18m from the deal.
