Puma oust Adidas as AC Milan kit supplier

AC Milan has confirmed German sportswear manufacturer Puma as its new kit supplier under a long-term deal, reports SportBusiness.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Milan said Puma will serve as its official partner, global technical supplier and official licensing partner from the 2018-19 season. It will replace fellow German brand Adidas in the role.

Milan confirmed in October that it would be ending its long-running partnership with Adidas at the end of the 2017-18 season. Adidas' contract with Milan began in 1998 and the club has since gone on to win 12 trophies, including two Uefa Champions Leagues and three Serie A titles.

Milan and Adidas signed a 10-year extension to their partnership in 2013 but the club has opted to end the relationship prematurely.

The club did not disclose the length of its deal with Puma.

AC Milan chief executive Marco Fassone said: "They (Puma) represent a major international brand and we will be proceeding together in the next few football seasons in our strategic pathway striving to reach new and extraordinary goals off and on the pitch."
