Pulis on verge of penning long-term Stoke contract

Tony Pulis is edging closer to signing his new Stoke City contract.

Chairman Peter Coates has now moved to secure the services of Pulis on a long-term basis and the 50-year-old is delighted to remain with the Potters.

"Yes, I was working without a contract but I never had a problem with that because I trust Peter," Pulis told The Sentinel.

"Obviously I'm pleased we've been able to sit down together and sort something out now.

"It's never been a problem not getting things done until now because we had shook hands on things in the past and that was always good enough for me.

"But Peter came to me at around Christmas to talk about getting a contract signed and I had no problem - it's just taken until now to get it in place."
