Pulis thrilled West Brom beat Everton to former Man Utd defender Evans

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis was delighted to have signed Jonny Evans from Manchester United in summer, despite interest from Everton.

The Northern Irish international moved to the Baggies for an initial £6million transfer fee, rising to £8m with add-ons, during the transfer window when the Toffees were in hot pursuit.

"Jonny has played a couple of games for us and he has already shown the qualities that we thought he had," said Pulis ahead of the Monday night clash against Everton.

"He's come from a club with a winning mentality and a club that's run properly.

"There are different standards and different levels and Everton are in that group just below the top so it was lovely to get Jonny."
