Pulis seeks transfer cash boost from new West Brom owners

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is hoping for a transfer boost from their new owners.

January will be Chinese owner Guochuan Lai's first transfer window while new chief executive Martin Goodman will take over from Mark Jenkins next month.

"The Chinese owners have said they will want to maintain the way this club has been run," said Pulis.

“That means that finances are the most important thing.

“We have to make sure we do as much work as well as we can on the players we want and prove to the they are worth investing in.

“We've got to go away from where we've been before, where we sign five or six players and take chances with them.

“We've got a steady group but we've got to add quality to it. It's not easy but we've got to try to change the tide.

“Those players cost more but sometimes over time they can work out cheaper as well.

“If they're good investments the team improves, you get bigger crowds, more support and more benefits from it.

“There is buying to sell and buying to push on and that's what we've got to recognise and realise."
