Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has hailed the "character" of his players.

He believes his players have the right stuff to survive ahead of today's crucial home game with fellow strugglers West Brom.

Pulis said: "The important thing is to keep your focus. The senior players are very important at this club - Paddy McCarthy, Danny Gabbidon, Damien Delaney, Julian Speroni and Mile Jedinak.

"Character is everything. You can have all the ability in the world - but if you haven't got the character, strength and willpower to get the most from it then you'll never achieve what you should achieve."
