West Brom boss Tony Pulis concedes they could lose Saido Berahino in the coming week.
Tottenham finally made their interest in Berahino official on Tuesday with a substantial bid, reported to be £15 million.
“I want to keep him and the club want to keep him but it's market forces," said Pulis.
“I'm sure Tottenham wanted to keep (Gareth) Bale and Manchester United wanted to keep (Cristiano) Ronaldo so I'm not stupid enough to say 'I'm not doing this' or 'I'm not doing that'.
“Never say never, especially in football, and I understand what goes on.
“But we hope next week, when it's all over, Saido is still one of us.
“The only advice I've given him is to concentrate on his football and try to improve himself as a footballer.
“God has given him a great gift and he can't waste it."
