Puel upset for Leicester players after Liverpool defeat

Leicester City boss Claude Puel insists they didn't deserve defeat at Liverpool.

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring after only three minutes and the Foxes held on until the 52nd minute, when Mohamed Salah netted his 16th league goal of the season. Number 17 followed 24 minutes later and proved to be the winner.

“Of course it's a disappointment because we had the feeling we can come back home with good result after scoring the first goal," said Puel.

“We resisted a lot for a long time to keep this result and try to score another goal but it was a tough game against a great team. We started with good quality and good pressing and scored the first goal.

“After the first half, there was not enough quality to keep the ball and to build other good chances. It was a positive attitude and good work from the team this afternoon. It's a big disappointment after this game because we have a feeling we could get a good result. After the game, it's difficult to accept this. We were leading for a lot of the game."

He added: “I am frustrated for my players. We have had a lot of games in a short time and now it is important to look ahead. We must recover for a crucial game on Monday for us. But at the moment it is a big disappointment."
