Southampton manager Claude Puel was delighted to see James Ward-Prowse among the goals on Sunday.
The 22-year-old midfielder netted just his second Premier League goal of the season with a lovely curling finish in the 26th minute of his side's eventual 3-0 home win over Leicester City.
Puel highlighted the importance of adding goals to their 2-0 scoreline prior to Dusan Tadic's late penalty but felt the fact Ward-Prowse was in on the act is a good sign ahead of Wednesday night's EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool, which has the Saints holding a 1-0 lead.
"I think we can finish the game off before, but it's a good situation to prepare for the game against Liverpool," Puel told southamptonfc.com
"I saw interesting things, like Ward-Prowse's goal. For me it's important to see midfielders and defenders scoring in our squad.
"I like this goal because it's a midfielder who scored, and it was a beautiful action."
