Stuart Pearce is set to perform a U-turn and take the Nottingham Forest job.
The former Manchester City boss, says the Daily Mail, is set to end Forest's managerial mayhem - by becoming manager from the end of the season.
An about-turn on Pearce's initial rejection of Forest's overtures has led to a compromise solution. Further talks have taken place between the ex-Forest and England left back and his former club.
These are understood to have produced an agreement that Pearce will take charge from the summer.
