PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali has revealed he's turned down Manchester United in the past.
tribalfootball.com understands United first sounded out Bakkali while he was still with Ajax. The midfielder had impressed United coaching staff in the Aegon Cup.
Bakkali, who is also being linked with Manchester City this week, said: "I am happy here and I want to find room to improve and grow. There were several clubs very interested in me and two clubs submitted an official offer.
"One was Manchester United, but I decided to refuse.
"I still do not want to leave PSV."
