Mark van Bommel has left AC Milan to return to PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch midfielder was with Milan for 18 months.

"This is deal we have been working on for a very long time," confirmed PSV technical director Marcel Brands.

"We are please to have finally succeeded in signing such an internationally experienced player, with a great history at PSV and who is also the captain of the national team."
