PSV skipper De Jong eager to prove himself on big stage against Man Utd

PSV Eindhoven striker Luuk De Jong is looking to make a mark against Manchester United.

The Dutch champions square off against English giants United at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday night to contest the opening game of the UEFA Champions League.

PSV captain De Jong is understandably looking forward to the clash and has revealed that he is hopeful of proving himself on the big stage with a good performance on the night after failing in England during his spell with Newcastle United in 2014.

De Jong said: "Of course, I want to show the world what I am like as a striker, particularly against a club like Manchester United.

"It's a different level to the Dutch league for every player in our squad has a great stage to show yourself. But the time at Newcastle is something I want to forget. I'm very happy now here at PSV."
