PSV Eindhoven chief Jan Reker fears hopes of re-signing Mark van Bommel will be scuppered by Premiership clubs. The Holland midfielder is currently in the final year of his contract with German giants Bayern Munich and while PSV director Jan Reker remains confident he could be tempted back to the Philips Stadion he believes Van Bommel would more likely accept an offer to play in England if one was on the table.
He is mulling over an offer of a new deal at Bayern and is expected to make his decision before the end of January.
"His club Bayern Munich want to become the German champions, they will not let him go during the winter break," Reker said.
"But reports that Mark isn't interested in a new PSV adventure are untrue.
"Van Bommel never said 'no' to PSV, but if he can join a big club in England, like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United, he will go there."
