PSV Eindhoven chief Toon Gerbrands has confirmed contact from Everton for sports director Marcel Brands.

Everton owner Farsad Moshiri wants to add Brands to the Goodison Park front office to work with technical director Steve Walsh.

Gerbrands told FOX Sports: "The relationship that we have within the club is when anyone is asked by a club, it is immediately shared. Even if the answer is 'no'. That is to prevent all kinds of rumours and other difficult things.

"Marcel has been called several times in recent years, there is sometimes a bit out, but he is just a popular technical director abroad.
