PSV coach Van Bommel: Messi has been best for years

PSV Eindhoven coach Mark van Bommel insists there's no reason for panic after their thrashing by Barcelona.

PSV lost their Champions League opener 4-0 to Barca on Tuesday night.

On Leo Messi's hat-trick, Van Bommel stated: "We are facing the best player in the world, I do not care if he wins the Ballon d'Or or not, he has been the best for years, that is indisputable.

"The truth is that we did not expect a loss like that, I think that what has been seen on the field is a very exaggerated result.

"I did not consider the defeat inevitable, much less, but it is clear that our team is the youngest of all those who play in the Champions League and we are a team that we are still developing."
