PSV Eindhoven chief Marcel Brands retains hope of re-signing Karim Rekik from Manchester City.
After last season's successful loan, Brands wants to extend the deal into the new campaign.
"Given the size of the squad back at City, Karim himself does not believe that he will play a lot of games in England for the season to come," said Brands.
"As soon as City is back from the trip to America, they'll make their assessments, and we'll talk about Rekik.
"That will be this week."
