PSG striker Mevlut Erdinc will inform Newcastle United today whether he wants to move to St James' Park.
The Daily Mail says Erdinc is about to snub a £7million move to Toon and stay at Paris St Germain.
It is another blow for manager Alan Pardew and chief scout Graham Carr, who has been busy for months since Andy Carroll left for Liverpool in January.
The 24-year-old is due to give Pardew an answer today but the signs are he will become the latest Ligue 1 striker to reject a move to Tyneside after Kevin Gameiro and Gervinho.
