PSG star Ibrahimovic hopes 4-goal haul silences English critics

PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic hopes his four-goal haul for Sweden silences his English critics.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill once famously said the Swede was "the most over-rated player on the planet".

But Ibrahimovic, who had scored only four times in 16 appearances against English teams before last night's 4-2 friendly victory, said: "That is the way it is with the English.

"If you score against them you are a good player, if you don't score against them then you are not a good player.

"I remember Lionel Messi before the 2009 Champions League Final for Barcelona. Then he scored against Manchester United and suddenly he was the best player in the world.

"Maybe now they will say something like that about me."
