PSG signing Thiago Silva has made it clear to AC Milan fans he never asked to leave. The Brazil defender joined PSG earlier this month in a €42 million deal.

"I wanted to stay, then I realized that Milan had economic hardship and made a deal with me," Thiago Silva told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"When Leonardo called me to tell me that the negotiations had reopened I was a bit 'confused'.

"I will miss the friends and the city of Milan, but with Ibra and Ancelotti I feel the atmosphere of AC Milan."
