PSG outbid Watford for Tottenham midfielder Stambouli

PSG have made a bid for Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

The London Evening Standard says PSG are closing in on the signing of Stambouli after lodging a £6m bid.

Stambouli was on the verge of completing a £5.5m switch to Watford last week, only to pull out after being alerted of PSG's interest.

The French champions are looking for a replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who has just joined Crystal Palace in a £10m deal.

They are prepared to pay more than Watford to make sure the transfer is secured as soon as possible.
