PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye has defended the French contingent at Newcastle United.
Newcastle's poor season last term has been largely blamed on the big presence of French players.
But Cabaye told Foot Mercato: "I do not think they're to blame. There have been some players, I think Debuchy, Loïc Rémy, Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran who have proved themselves.
"Hatem (Ben Arfa) was there too, he was able to contribute in some games very good things.
"The club is directed to the French market for players who have quality and are cheaper than in England. I hope they will be able to do very good things with this team."
