Manchester United face stiff competition for Sarpsborg midfielder Krépin Diatta.
The Senegal U20 captain has confirmed United's interest, revealing two rounds of talks with representatives.
However, Foot Mercato says United are not alone, with French giants Marseille and PSG also keen.
"Norway is the perfect springboard to have time to play and to showcase himself," a source close to Diatta says.
"He has a professional head on his shoulders."
"The goal is to play. I do not think he's ready for a big European club yet. We have to go through the stages one after another."
Diatta is tied to Sarpsborg until 2020.
