PSG management regret seeing Guendouzi slip away to Arsenal

PSG management regret failing to re-sign Matteo Guendouzi last summer.

PSG chief Antero Henrique made an attempt to sign the midfielder from Lorient before Arsenal stepped in to land the youngster.

Guendouzi has been a revelation this season in London while PSG have failed to replace Thiago Motta after his summer retirement. PSG coach Thomas Tuchel has even had to field Marquinhos in midfield this term.

"It's true that they (PSG) were interested this summer, like other clubs," said Guendouzi. "There was a lot of discussion. But for me, the best choice was to join Arsenal. From the moment they positioned themselves for me, I did not hesitate a second."
