L'Equipe says PSG directors, including president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, have made contact with Messi's camp to outline the deal and their plans for the Argentine.
Al-Khelaifi accepts tempting Messi to Paris will be difficult, but has decided to "try his luck", knowing the Argentine's arrival would accelerate his plans to transform PSG into a global power.
Only last week, Messi's father and agent, Jorge Messi, could not shut the door on the prospect.
"At the moment there is nothing. Leo is a player of Barcelona, where he has a multi-year contract.
"But it is an honor to know that PSG are thinking of him.
"In football, sure, you can never know what will happen. You don’t know what will be tomorrow. Only God knows."
