PSG launch into US market

Paris Saint-Germain have opened an office in New York as part of a drive to grow their brand in the US, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The new development adds to the Ligue 1 outfit's offices in Doha and Singapore, and aims "to increase brand visibility, cultivate new partnerships and feed the fan base".

The office will be managed by Jérôme de Chaunac, the new general manager for the Americas.

"Opening offices within strategic territories has been identified as an important step in club development," said Frédéric Longuépée, deputy general manager of commercial activities at Paris Saint-Germain.

"We have had significant exposure in the United States over the last three summers with the men's team touring New York, Los Angeles and Miami as part of the International Champions Cup [preseason tournament].

"In 2011, our president and chief executive assigned to all club members the task of turning Paris Saint-Germain into an international sports brand. The club now embodies the values of elegance, excellence and respect that are associated with the city of Paris, whose name it so proudly bears. Since then, the brand has become one of the fastest growing projects in the world, especially in the digital environment. Opening offices in strategic territories is an important part of its development."
