PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu insists he never wanted to leave Palermo.
Sirigu left the Stadio Barbera in the summer after a 4m fee was agreed between the two sides.
The goalkeeper was in talks with the Sicilian club about a new contract, but a failure to agree terms saw his exit.
"It wasn't a question of money," he continued. "I was actually prepared to play for another season with the contract that I was on at the time.
"I wanted to do that so I could demonstrate what I was worth and in an effort to convince the directors to make me a real offer.
"However, they pushed me towards the exit.""I have Palermo in my heart," stated the 25-year-old in an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I would have stayed if they would have wanted to keep a hold of me."
