PSG deserved win but 'everything is open' for return leg - Chelsea's Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes his side potentially deserved to lose to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

The Blues drew 1-1 with the French champions at Parc des Princes in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg after Edinson Cavani cancelled out Branislav Ivanovic's 36th-minute opener.

Mourinho felt his Chelsea side were decent in the opening 45 minutes but was of the belief that Laurent Blanc's men were by far the better side in the second half, forcing Thibaut Courtois into a number of fine saves.

"The first half was all ours," he told reporters. "PSG allowed us to have the ball and rarely pressured us but the second half was different.

"We were aggressive and always tried to play quickly and directly. I think the 1-1 result is a good reflection of what happened, thanks to some great saves from our goalkeeper.

"To be honest…if anyone deserved to have won it was PSG, not Chelsea, but everything is open for the second leg. PSG are a fantastic team so I think we did really well."

The current Premier League leaders and the French Ligue 1 giants will resume hostilities at Stamford Bridge in the second leg on March 11.
