Paris St Germain chairman Nasser el-Khelaifi has played down talk of an imminent bid for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Speculation in Italy, which has since been repeated in France, has suggested that PSG see Ronaldo as the next part of their ambitious project - with a €100million (£80.3m) package being pieced together.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is a Real Madrid player," said El-Khelaifi.

"I have not contacted his club, and no-one has contacted me about him."
