PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti has played down talk of a bid for Pescara midfielder Marco Verratti.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Italian Under-21 international midfielder Verratti, who at Pescara has become known as 'the new Andrea Pirlo.'

"Verratti is a good player, but he is still very young, while we need players with more experience seeing as we are in the Champions League.

"Last season we finished second in Ligue 1, so clearly our next target is to finish top. I expect a balanced League, but we want to do well both domestically and in the Champions League."
