Prudential have confirmed they're in shirt sponsorship talks with Manchester United.

American International Group (AIG) confirmed in January they would not be renewing their current deal beyond the 2009-10 campaign - although the logo is set to be retained for next season.

Edward Brewster, head of group media relations at Prudential, told The Sport Briefing: "We can confirm we have been approached by Manchester United. We are one of several [companies], we believe, to have been [talking to Manchester United]."

Brewster added that, from Prudential's viewpoint, there was no timeline on a potential deal.
