Prso: Boyd should be starting for Rangers

Dado Prso believes Kris Boyd is the top striker in Scotland and has urged Rangers boss Walter Smith to pick him every week.

Boyd has only made a dozen starts in the SPL this season and has featured only once in Rangers' European campaign. Jean-Claude Darcheville and Daniel Cousin have often been preferred to the ex-Killie hitman who has also faced competition from the likes of Steven Naismith and Nacho Novo for a place in the first team.

However, former Rangers forward Dado Prso who played alongside Kris in his final season at Ibrox before retiring reckons Boyd should be playing a bigger role:

"It is for the coach to decide whether it is Nacho or someone else who plays up front but Kris is someone I think should be playing. Of course it's easy for me to say who I would like to see on the team when I am not on the pitch," Prso told Rangers News.

"But I like Kris. It was good to play alongside him and in my opinion he is the top striker in Scottish football. I always said to him he can score goals and I still think that is the case. For me, he should always play."

The former Croatian international also backed his old club to wrestle the title back from Celtic. "I can see the title coming back to Ibrox this season but I don't think Rangers will stop there as they are showing how hungry they are," added Prso.
