Price targets Derby No1 status

New goalkeeper signing Lewis Price is targeting a first team breakthrough at Derby County.

"I want to try to play as much as I can this season," said the 23-year-old, who made 34 appearances in the Championship for Ipswich last season.

"I know Steve (Bywater) is the number one and I am pretty sure the gaffer is going to give him his chance after winning promotion with the team.

"I like that, it shows good loyalty towards your players but I am going to make it difficult for the gaffer," he added.

"I will keep my head down, work hard in training and push Steve. If I get my chance, then, hopefully, I can take it."

Davies wants competition in all departments of the team.

"Can Lewis push Stephen Bywater for the number one spot? That's why he is here," said the Rams manager.
