Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed their interest in Chievo Verona goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

Genoa need to find a new keeper after selling Marco Amelia to AC Milan.

Preziosi said: "We have talked a lot about Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino. We'll see what happens in the next few days even if we have alternatives.

"As for the midfield, we cannot buy a midfielder just to satisfy the fans. He must be particularly positive and excellent.

"Genoa can also count on many young players who could be revelations."
