Preston boss Alan Irvine wants to hold onto on-loan Blackburn Rovers striker Paul Gallagher.

He said: "The Paul Gallagher situation is one that I'm not sure about because I don't know what Blackburn want to do as far as that's concerned. I'm waiting for Mark Hughes to come back to me.

"I think he's done a good job and he's a different kind of striker - I would like to keep him, but it's not down to me, it's completely down to Mark Hughes. He knows how I feel and I'm just waiting to hear from him."
