Preston North End midfielder Josh Brownhill isn't surprised to see some of his former Manchester United youth teammates get their chance this season.
Brownhill was cut by United as a 16 year-old.
He told the Mirror: "I credit United a lot with the way they brought me up and taught me how to act. Preston have done a lot for me too, trusting in me and giving me a chance.
"But, of course, I sometimes wonder what might have been. James Wilson was in my group and if there was anyone going to make it, it was him.
"I knew James would get a chance. He always played a year up and was always scoring. He is a top-quality player and I'm happy he's doing well.
"I played a lot with Paddy McNair too, even though he was a year above me and he's taken his chance too.
"If I get the chance to start it will be a great test of where I am now compared with those lads."
