Preston rejected a £750,000 bid from West Bromwich Albion last week and are determined to keep the highly rated goalkeeper at Deepdale, says the Mirror.

Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is targeting a new keeper to provide No. 1 Scott Carson with competition.

But Preston have stunned the Premier League new boys by demanding a substantial fee for Lonergan, 26.
