Preston North End have snapped up Crystal Palace defender Paddy McCarthy.

The 32-year-old has agreed a 93-day emergency loan deal.

McCarthy has made over 250 league appearances for Palace and former clubs Charlton and Leicester.

"I'm delighted to be here," McCarthy said. "When I heard there was interest I jumped at the chance to come up here and I'm excited for the challenge ahead."
