Manchester United midfielder Matty James is open to returning to Preston North End next season.

The Lancashire Evening Post says James has caught the eye since arriving on loan from Manchester United at the beginning of February.

He's been one of PNE's most consistent performers, scoring two goals to add to some impressive midfield displays.

Darren Ferguson is keen to bring him back on a year-long loan at the very least.

And that idea is one which James is certainly open to, though long-term, he hopes there is a future at United for him.
