Preston boss Graham Westley has paid tribute to Sir Tom Finney as the former England legend celebrates his 90th birthday. North End host MK Dons in League One on Saturday and plans are in place to mark the occasion in Finney's honour, with a 12 metre vinyl mural of Preston's favourite son already unveiled on the glass frontage of the Sir Tom Finney Stand at Deepdale.
"The fact that a stand is named after him says everything about the effect he's had on this football club and on the world of football.
"When you see the people who are lining up to give tributes to him - the likes of Sir Alex (Ferguson) topping the agenda - it tells you everything you need to know about a quite wonderful man." "I think we're expecting a bumper crowd and a real celebration of 90 fabulous years," said Westley. "I've never met Sir Tom, but grandparents and my father and people in my family who've seen him play still talk about him.
