Preston boss Grayson: Man Utd manager Van Gaal owes Moyes

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson believes Louis van Gaal should thank David Moyes.

Preston host Van Gaal's Manchester United in the FA Cup tomorrow night.

Grayson believes that Van Gaal is reaping the benefits of Moyes' time at United.

Real Sociedad coach Moyes was sacked just 10 months into his Old Trafford reign after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson. And Grayson said: "There was going to be a period of transition when Sir Alex retired and it was going to take a lot of time and money.

"Moysey didn't get the kind of support that Louis van Gaal has had since coming in. United have spent a lot of money on players and making such a big investment suggests that they will give Van Gaal time. In that respect, Moysey's misfortune has helped Louis."
